OVERVIEW

Amanda was admitted to the legal profession as a solicitor of Queensland, Australia in 2019 and the Bruneian Bar in 2020. Prior to joining the firm as a pupil and then as a lawyer, she has also worked as a paralegal with the firm. Amanda advises clients on corporate, commercial, banking and conveyancing on transactional and regulatory matters.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising on regulated activities and services under the Securities Markets Order, 2013 and Banking Order, 2006 in Brunei from both an onshore or offshore basis;
  • Advising and preparing share transfer agreements and supporting documents for the transfer of shares;
  • Advising and preparing sale and purchase agreements and tenancy agreements in relation to real property;
  • Advising and preparing banking and security documents for loans and financing facilities;
  • Advising on regulations relating to payment services and payment systems in Brunei;
  • Advising on international franchise agreements under the Brunei law;
  • Advising client on its equipment procurement and construction agreement with an oil operator in relation to its terminal facilities and on its subcontract arrangements with its subcontractor;
  • Advising on the regulatory matters relating to the operation of Floating Production Storage and Offloading unit in Brunei waters; and
  • Undertaking corporate and legal due diligence reports.
