As an experienced Syariah counsel, she advises and handles Islamic family and matrimonial matters, Islamic wealth management and succession and provides representation in Syariah courts.

Safinah is member of the Committee for the enactment of Islamic laws in Brunei.

Safinah is authorized by the Islamic Religious Council Brunei (Majlis Ugama Islam) to speak and teach on matters relating to the Islamic Religion. She has spoken and conducted public seminars on women rights following divorce in accordance with Islam in various mosques in Brunei.

She is also a part-time lecturer at Universiti Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic (UNISSA).
